Italian Easter Pie

This main dish "pie" has a filling of ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, ham, salami, pepperoni, prosciutto and eggs, sandwiched between bread dough.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 4 oz. ham, diced
  • 4 oz. salami, diced
  • 1 or 2 pieces prosciutto, chopped
  • 6 slices pepperoni
  • 2 lbs. ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 beaten eggs

Method

Grease a 13x9" pan well with shortening. Roll out each piece of dough separately to fit pan. Place one piece in pan; set aside. Combine all meats in bowl with ricotta and mozzarella. Stir in beaten eggs, mix well. Pour into crust; put on top crust; seal edges well; prick top with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Cool slightly and cut to serve.
